Botox
Botulinum Toxin Type A — AllerganGlabella, forehead, and crow's-feet treated with a deliberately conservative dose. Botox is also our tool for masseter slimming, brow shaping, lip flips, and selective neck-band softening. We top up sooner rather than over-correct — the La Moiré standard. New clients begin with a starter dose and revisit at two weeks for any nuanced adjustment.
The science, plainly.
Botulinum toxin type A temporarily blocks acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction of injected muscles, softening contraction. With careful unit selection and placement, we soften dynamic lines without immobilising expression. Effect onsets day 3 to 5, peaks at day 10 to 14, and fades over 3 to 4 months.
What to expect in the room.
A focused consultation about expression patterns, then 4 to 12 tiny injections with a 30G needle. Total active injection time is under 10 minutes. Pin-prick redness fades within an hour.
Avoid lying flat or vigorous exercise for 4 hours. No facials, saunas, or facial massage for 24 hours.
The honest timeline.
Individual response varies. What follows is the typical arc we observe in our clinic.
- 01Day 3 to 5
First noticeable softening.
- 02Day 10 to 14
Full effect; any nuance review happens here.
- 03Month 3 to 4
Effect fades; we re-treat before lines return.
The questions we hear most.
- Will I look frozen?
- Not at our doses. We start conservative and adjust at the two-week mark. You should still be able to raise your brow, just less dramatically.
- How many units will I need?
- Average starter doses are 8 to 12 units for crow's feet, 12 to 20 units for the glabella, 8 to 14 units across the forehead. Your provider personalises after assessing your muscle pattern.
- When should I start prevention?
- When dynamic lines begin to appear at rest — typically late twenties or early thirties. Earlier prevention requires lighter doses to maintain.
