Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA)Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a carboxymethylcellulose gel. The gel provides immediate lift; the CaHA microspheres act as a scaffold for new collagen and elastin production over the following months. Results last 12 to 18 months, with histological evidence of ongoing collagen production beyond the visible correction window.

CaHA microspheres (25 to 45 µm) are suspended in a 70 percent gel carrier. On injection, the gel volumises instantly. Over weeks, the gel is absorbed while the microspheres remain in place as a biocompatible scaffold that recruits fibroblasts to lay down new collagen and elastin. The CaHA itself fully resorbs over 9 to 18 months.
What to expect in the room.
Topical numbing; Radiesse contains lidocaine for comfort. The product is firmer than HA filler, so the placement technique is meticulous. Mild swelling and possible bruising for 3 to 7 days.
Avoid pressure on the treated area for one week. Sleep elevated; no facial massage for two weeks.

The questions we hear most.
- Is Radiesse the same as HA filler?
- No. Radiesse is calcium-based and acts as a biostimulator — it builds new collagen. HA fillers are temporary volumisers only. Radiesse is also not reversible with hyaluronidase.
- Can I use Radiesse on my hands?
- Yes — Radiesse is FDA-approved for hand rejuvenation. It restores volume to the back of the hands and softens the appearance of tendons and veins.
- What is 'hyperdilute' Radiesse?
- A dilution of Radiesse with sterile water (1:3 to 1:6) used as a biostimulator for skin tightening on the neck, décolletage, and lateral face. Effect is subtler and develops over months.
